Berdine "Bang" Bingold, daughter of William Francis Simmer and Gertrude Mary Garland Simmer, was born August 19, 1922 at Jamaica, Iowa and died November 13, 2009 at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, Iowa at the age of 87 years. She has lovingly been known as "Bang". She attended St. Patrick School. In her earlier days, Bang worked at Priebes and was a waitress at the Perry Cafe. Bang married Lester "Bud" Wolber and they made their home first in Perry and then in Marion. They were parents of one son Terry Wolber. Bud died in 1959 and Bang returned to Perry to make her home. On August 3, 1967 she was united in marriage with Richard August Bingold. Dick died February 12, 1992. Bang was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Regina Guild. She enjoyed basketball, Yahtze, and game shows on television. In addition to her husbands, Bang was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; son Terry Wolber February 17, 2000; sisters Marita Gregg, Bernita Brooks, and brother Donald Simmer. Bang is survived by and lovingly remembered by her brother Bill Simmer and his wife Velma of Perry, Iowa; sisters Mae Mansfield and Doris Fessler both of Perry; Donna Kadolph of Eldora, Iowa; sisters-in-law Margaret Simmer of Clear Lake, Iowa and Marie Santee of Perry, Iowa; numerous loving nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
