Betty J. Bowles - Adel

Betty Bowles, 88, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 19, 2013. Betty (Henry) Bowles was born March 12, 1925 to Burt and Lenora Henry in Van Meter, Iowa. She attended Adel Schools. On February 14, 1942 she married Cleo Bowles and they had two children, Larry and Mike. Cleo and Betty were self-employed in carpentry for 50 years until retiring in 1990. Betty enjoyed reading books, watching baseball games on TV, visiting friends and spending time with her family. She is survived by her two brothers: Fred of Portland, OR, and Harold of Des Moines, IA; her two sons: Larry (Peg) of Garden City MO, and Mike (Marilyn) of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren: Steve, Scott and Susan Bowles, all of Garden City, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. A memorial graveside service will be 2 PM Friday, March 22 at Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. Online condolences can be left on this site.
