Betty Jean Farley

Betty Jean Farley was born on March 29, 1927 in Boone, Iowa to Roy Snowgren and Elsie (Paulsen) Snowgren. Her father passed away when Betty was very young and her mother remarried Ormie Davis. The family moved to Cooper where Betty graduated from high school in 1945. She went on to college at Iowa State University for a year. On August 23, 1947 Betty and Junior Edward Farley "ED" were united in marriage. They lived on a farm near Jamaica, then moved to Perry, and a farm north of Cooper, then to Jamaica, and retiring to Lake Panorama for 17 years. In 1991 they moved back to Perry. Betty worked for Iowa Electric as a Bookkeeper for 25 years, and also worked at Bacon's Jewelers for many years. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, doing puzzles, and traveling with Ed. Betty was a member of the Faith Bible Church in Panora and the Eastern Star in Jamaica. She passed away on May 21, 2024 at the Exira Care Center. Betty was preceded in death by her father Roy Snowgren, mother Elsie Davis, infant son Michael Farley, grandson Eric Grow, brothers Roland Snowgren and Eddie Davis, nephews Dwight Snowgren and Gary Snowgren, and stepfather Ormie Davis. She is survived by her children: Brian Farley (Julie) of Queen Creek, AZ, Scott Farley (Tina Newbury) of Jamaica, Pamela Grow (Darwin) of Bagley, and Eileen Nally (Bruce) of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren: Cory Grow of Bagley, Michael Benson (Marcia) of Ankeny, Andrea Benson of Ankeny, Joel Farley (Greta) of Lake Elmo, MN, Leslie Drogo of Atlantic, Andrew Farley of Denver, CO, and Arion Farley Toohey of Des Moines; great-grandchildren: Madison, Payton, Reagan, and Kennedy Grow; Brandon, Braxton, and Sophia Benson; Colton and Hadley Thede; Oliver, Adalynn, and Adelynn Drogo; brother-in-law Roger Farley of Riverside, CA; other relatives, and many friends.
