Betty Jean Bishop Lincoln-Fish passed away on December 29, 2019 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital at the age of 92. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – Winterset Chapel, 1823 N. John Wayne Drive, Winterset, Iowa. Funeral service will follow beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Union Chapel Cemetery in Madison County, Iowa. Betty came into this life on October 19, 1927 to Paul W. and Esta (Morris) Bishop. Betty lived in Des Moines and graduated from East High School in 1946 and married Robert Lincoln in October 1946. Betty and Robert moved to California where Robert was stationed in the Marines. They moved back to Iowa to raise their 4 children. Betty worked many different jobs in her lifetime. She worked in the telephone office in Des Moines as a telephone operator, a bartender in Winterset, worked on a road crew while they were building the St. Charles Highway, and of course, a homemaker. Betty enjoyed going to Arizona in the winter with her companion Lyle Fish. They went for 28 years to the same park and moved 3 times within the same park. Betty and Lyle married in 2013, but sadly 3 months later, Lyle passed away after battling cancer. Betty was also a lifelong member of the Beta Sigma Phi Chapter XP 4209 in Winterset. Betty is survived by her son, Bob (Tammy) Lincoln; daughter, Becky (Wade) Porter; brother, Paul Bishop; 13 grandkids; 33 great grandkids with 1 more on the way; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Paul Bishop; mother, Esta Morris Bishop; husband Robert Lincoln; daughters Barbra Ann Lincoln and Rhonda Sanders; sister, Beverly Sanderson; and her late husband, Lyle Fish. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation.
