Bev Emerson

Service: Memorials may be directed to the family. Memorial: Bev Emerson was born September 30, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and Katherine Matty (Alexander) Walther. She attended school in Des Moines and married Roger Emerson. She loved to cook and worked as a cook at various facilities throughout her life. She enjoyed collecting apples and milk glasses and loved home decorating, especially during the holidays. Bev cherished her family and they were of utmost importance to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Kenny Polsen, Wayne Polsen, and Ronald Polsen. Bev died Sunday, December 2, 2007, at the Madison County Health Care System in Winterset. She was 72. Services will be private. She is survived by her husband, Roger of Winterset; her seven children, Kim Newton of Des Moines, Jimmy Newton of Arkansas, Becky Tollerud (Denny) of Bondurant, Donna Moro of Oklahoma, Randy Emerson (Sandi) of Winterset, Steve Emerson of Des Moines, David Emerson (Deborah) of Winterset; two sisters, Donna Gering of Des Moines and Maxine McDowell of Kansas City, Missouri; a brother, Gary Walther of Pleasant Hill, 31 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.
