Beverly Ann Gohn

A service for Beverly Ann Gohn was held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, Iowa. Words of comfort were provided by Reverend Julia Poulsen of the First United Methodist Church of Jefferson. Honorary casket bearers were her grandchildren: Corey, Victoria, Jonathan, Leeanna, Tommy and Timothy and nieces and nephews Matt Miller, Megan Miller-Rose, Tim Robbins and Jeff Robbins. Recorded music played was "Baby's Got Her Blue Jeans On", "Amazing Grace", "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "In Heaven There Is No Beer". Interment was at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa. Following the service there was a time of lunch and fellowship at Hastings Funeral Home. Beverly Ann Gohn, 70, was born on December 18, 1942 to Margaret Yates and Marion Rhoads at Woodward, Iowa and died in Jefferson on July 7, 2013. Beverly grew up in the Woodward and Perry area and was a member of the first class to graduate from the new Perry High School in 1961. Beverly attended the Mercy School of Nursing earning her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. In August of 1971 Beverly married Robert Gohn and the couple had three children; Jennifer Wendy, Jason and Jeremy. Beverly later owned and operated her own landscaping business and trained horses. Beverly enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, riding motorcycles, gardening and her collection of horses. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, two brother's Bill and Ben, a grandson Cody Garreans and a niece, Connie Rhoads. Survivors include daughter, Jennifer Wendy Gohn of Jefferson and sons Jason Gohn (Manuela) of Everton, MO. and Jeremy Gohn (Sandy) of Jefferson; six grandchildren: Corey of Grand Junction, Victoria and Jonathan both of Elyria, OH, and Leeanna, Tommy and Timothy all of Everton, Mo.; two sisters; Betty Robbins (Harry) of Runnells and Barbara K. Miller (Dale) of Yale, niece Megan Miller-Rose (Brad) and nephews Matt Miller, Tim Robbins (Jodi) and Jeff Robbins (Lorena) along with other relatives and friends.
