Beverly Ham

Beverly Ham, 91, of Winterset, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Methodist UnityPoint in Des Moines.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 6, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset. Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Patterson United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW #8142.

Beverly J. Ham was born on April 3, 1931, in Polk County, Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Glenn A. and Lora T. Cooter Foster.

Beverly has been a lifetime resident of Madison County, Winterset, Iowa, attending Winterset Schools and graduating in 1949, starting employment with Drs. Hickenlooper, Chesnut, Carson and Evans in 1948. Beverly also worked as the Deputy Clerk of Court for Madison County, serving with then Clerk, Marguerite Morrissey Herrick, she also worked for W. E. (Al) Jones, State Farm Agent, and retired after 17 years from Security Abstract and Title Company in May of 1994.

Beverly and Jesse Dale Ham were united in marriage on March 29, 1953, at the First United Methodist Church in Winterset and were married 57 years.

She was a fifty-year member of Eastern Star Chapter #180, lifetime member of the Madison County Historical Society, Ladies Auxiliary VFW #8142 and the First United Methodist Church of Winterset.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Glenn and Lora Foster, husband, Jesse Dale Ham, brother, John W. Foster and brother-in-law, Gailen Ham.

Beverly is survived by family and many friends.
