Bonnie Sue Van Cleave, daughter of Lee Edward Van Cleave and Frances Jean Bennink Van Cleave, was born April 20, 1955 in Jefferson, Iowa. Bonnie was the third born and joined her brothers Tom and Tim Van Cleave. She grew up on her parents' farm and enjoyed her active farm life under the watchful eyes of her parents and brothers! Bonnie graduated Perry High School and later received her R.N. degree. Bonnie worked as an R.N. at the New Homestead Nursing and Assisted Living in Guthrie Center, continuing through her illness until very recently. Bonnie was the mother of one daughter, Sunni Lynne; grandmother of two granddaughters, Angel Bunn and Mary Lee; and one great grandchild Malachi Hribar. She was preceded in death by her grandparents James and Fairy Van Cleave; and Arthur and Jeanette Bennink; aunts Dolores Helle and husband LeRoy; Barbara Kipp; Roberta Russell and husband Jack; uncle Warren Bennink and wife Kathryn. She is survived by and forever loved by her mother Frances Van Cleave of Spring Valley Assisted Living in Perry, Iowa; her dedicated daughter Sunni Lee of Bagley; granddaughters Angel Bunn and Mary Lee; and great grandchild Malachi Hribar. Bonnie is also survived by her caring nephews Jim Van Cleave of Springfield, MO and Mike Van Cleave (Jessica) of Fair Grove, MO; great nephews Mitchell Van Cleave and Lee Van Cleave; aunt Bonnie Harmon (Jim) of Grand Island, NE; uncle Richard Kipp of Yale, IA; many cousins, other relatives, and many friends. Bonnie enjoyed her flower gardens, vacationing with family and friends, but most of all she loved her family deeply. The time spent with them was most precious to her. According to Bonnie's wishes, no funeral services are planned, however, Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is taking care of arrangements. A memorial stone will be placed next to her brothers in Prairie Center Cemetery. Memorials may be left at Hastings Funeral Home or sent to the family at 2591 115th St., Bagley, IA 50026.
