Bounma (Mee) Panyanouvong

Bounma (Mee) Panyanouvong passed away on March 17, 2025.

He was a proud father of three sons, Kendrew Panyanouvong, Kendrick Panyanouvong and Korbin Panyanouvong.

Mee immigrated to the United States from Bangkok, Thailand, eventually settling in Des Moines, Iowa, in the 1980’s. He’s a graduate of Des Moines Tech High School and worked at B&G Foods (formally Tones & Spices) for more than 30 honorable years. Mee was best known as a relentlessly hard worker, a true family man and most importantly, an incredibly kind and generous person within his local community.

As an avid keyboard player, he loved playing music with his bandmates and spending time with his close friends, family and band of brothers — singing, playing and making music.

He loved his children overwhelmingly and his children are so proud of him.

He is survived by his three sons, Kendrew Panyanouvong, Kendrick Panyanouvong, Korbin Panyanouvong; his fiancé, Palamy Chanthala; the mother of his children, Patricia (Phou) Baccam and his mother, Bounxou Heungpaserd.

A funeral service is planned for Friday, March 21, 2025, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory (8201 Hickman Rd, Urbandale IA,50322) from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
