Brady Andrew Martens, 25, of West Des Moines, ended his time here on earth on March 22nd. Brady was born on June 14th, 1996 in Des Moines. He attended Waukee schools and graduated from Waukee High School in 2014. For the past 8 years, Brady was a Sales Consultant at Best Buy, where he specialized in appliances. He recently started and excelled in their digital sales platform and quickly became one of the top salesmen in the region. Brady’s passion was helping and serving others. He loved being surrounded by his friends and family and wasn’t happy until everyone else was. He never met a stranger and gave the best hugs ever. He loved playing video games, riding his scooter and skateboard, doing puzzles, having Nerf wars, playing backgammon with his late uncle and driving his beloved Corvette. He loved collecting watches and also had an impressive and extensive Pokémon collection. As his final gift of love to others, Brady donated his organs and tissues. That selfless gift will help over 100 people. Brady was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charles and Jane Martens as well as his favorite uncle, Lenny Belas. Those left to cherish his precious memory include his parents, Scott Martens of Urbandale, Cheryl (Kevin) Stillman of Clive; his sister, Ellie Martens, of West Des Moines; maternal grandparents, Bob and Peggy Jacobson of Urbandale; Aunt Julie (Vern) King; Aunt Sally Belas; Uncle Rob (Angie) Jacobson and many special cousins, step-siblings and friends. Brady would want all of his family, friends and coworkers to know they were the light of his life. He loved his tribe fiercely and would want us all to do the same. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 28th, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow.
