Brenda Anne Barrow

Brenda Anne Barrow, daughter of William Barrow and Judy Brown Barrow, was born August 24, 1960 in Perry, Iowa. She grew up in Woodward where she graduated from high school. After high school Brenda went to DMACC before going to Mercy College of Nursing where she got her degree. She liked going kayaking where she could look for bald eagles and just enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Brenda worked at several different nursing homes from South Dakota to Iowa. She enjoyed going out with friends and family to have a good time. Brenda liked knitting, cooking, and loved gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow up. Brenda passed away on April 19, 2023 at her home in Perry. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Josh Erwin, and her brother Robert Barrow. Brenda will be dearly missed by her son Joseph Erwin and his wife Valarie of Perry; six grandchildren: Elijah Moore, Noah Moore, Jayden Moore, Austin Hershey, Taylor Moore, and Odessa Van Derpoel; five great-grandchildren: Aleahu Lopez, Breadon Hershey, Bella Spicer, Kienley Spicer, and Briar Derpoel; brother William Barrow and his wife Carol of Woodward; sister Barbara Mentzer and her husband Scott of Carlisle; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. A Celebration of Life for Brenda Anne Barrow was held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 30, 2023 at the Bouton Community Center. Hastings Funeral Home in Perry was is in charge of these arrangements.
