A vigil service for Brian Grow was held 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, Iowa. Mass of Christian burial for Brian was 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at St Brigid Catholic Church in Grand Junction, Iowa. Officating the services was Father Donald Ries. The lectors were Jessie Alex and Kylie White. Ron Brown was the Eucharistic minister. Brian's honorary casket bearers were: Kevin Grow, Jason Alex, Lt. Mark Simons, Bridgette Scott, Gina Reed, Kylie White, Nicole Weeks, Eric Elston, Andrew Elston, Phil Lansing, and Bud Matthews. The casket bearers were: Mark Miller, Doug Kinney, Steve Alex, Ron Brown, Aaron Kinney, and Jeffrey Alex. Monica McGregor and Sheilah Pound provided the music. The gift bearers were Brian's siblings: Kathy Alex, Becky Kinney, Deb Miller, Denise Elston, and Kevin Grow. Dale Miller and Jason Alex were the ushers. Interment was at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Grand Junction, Iowa. Following the service at the cemetery at time of fellowship and lunch was held at the St. Brigid Parish Center in Grand Junction. Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moultrie, GA or the Epileptic Association. Brian Donald Grow, son of Donald Glen Grow and Jo Anne Rosetta Miller Grow was born April 4, 1967 in Jefferson, Iowa and died May 20, 2012 at his parents' home in Georgia at the age of 45. Brian went to school at East Greene in Grand Junction, graduating in 1985. He worked with his parents in their family auction house and worked eight years for McDonald's in their maintenance department at their Boone location. Brian moved with his parents in 1998 to Moultrie where he worked for Wal-Mart for twelve years. His family says that half of Moultie was his friends. Brian was concerned for all children and supported a child through Children's International for many years. Brian loved people and had lots of friends. He enjoyed collecting coins, watching movies and his favorite movie series was "Rocky". Brian enjoyed baseball and football; his favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Brian was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Moultrie, GA where he was deeply loved. Throughout his life, Brian was very much a family person, always being truly attentive to all. In turn, he was very loved and will be deeply missed by his parents, Donald Glen Grow and JoAnne Rosetta Miller Grow of Moultrie, GA; four sisters: Kathy Alex (Steve) of Ottumwa, IA; Becky Kinney (Doug) of Waukee, IA; Deb Miller (Mark) of Perry, IA and Denise Elston (Roy Sellers) of Moultrie, GA; and one brother Kevin Grow of Perry, IA; Brian's nieces and nephews Jeffrey Alex; Jason Alex; Gina Reed; Aaron Kinney; Kylie White; Bridgette Scott; Lt. Mark Simons; Nicole Weeks; Eric Elston; Andrew Elston and several great nieces and nephews. Brian is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Doris Brown of Rippey, IA; Cleo Ison (Don) of Venice, FL; Janice Bice (Larry) of Perry, IA; Jerry Miller of Texas; Dale Miller (Barb) of Yale, IA; Gayland Miller (Nancy) of Ames, IA; and Ralph Miller (Jana) of Grand Junction, IA; many cousins; other relatives and friends.
