Bryan Eugene Greene

Bryan Eugene "Gene" Greene, 82, of Ames, died December 11, 2007 at Riverside Manor in Ames. Gene was born on August 5, 1925 in Jefferson, Iowa to John and Puline Greene. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific Theater during WW II. He moved to Ames in 1947. On August 6, 1950 he married Marjorie Blackburn in Jefferson. In the fall of 1950 he was recalled to serve in the Korean Conflict. Gene had a 35 year career as a milk route salesman at Hyland Dairy in Marshalltown, Borden's Dairy and Anderson Erickson in Des Moines. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Teamster's Union. He enjoyed tinkering, camping and fishing with his grandchildren and spending time in Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Greene; son, Charlie; two grandsons, Bryan and Jason Greene; three granddaughters, Tracy Dubon(Paul), Trisha(Josh) Cornwell, and Natalie; three great-granddaughters, Isabella, Sofia, and Mariana Dubon; one brother ,Richard Greene; and sister, Phyllis Ashcraft (Les). He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Cindy Kathmann, and three brothers, Darrell, John Jr. and Jim Greene.
