A service for Caleb John Anderson was held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Perry, Iowa. Visitation was after noon on Friday, December 27, 2013 with family present from 4 until 7 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, Iowa. Pastor Chris Tjapkes of the First Baptist Church in Perry provided words of comfort. Honorary bearers were: Dean Wistenberg, Tony Florman, Stephen Brinton, Josh Leber, Barron Norman, and Tad Mueller. Casket Bearers: Will Paulsen, Diamond Martinez, Kyle Carnahan, Trevor Engles, Jon Taylor, and Walter Loaiza. Arron Norman and Ben Luther were the ushers. Susan Tjapkes was the musician. Soloists were Judy Gardner and Dave Cannon. Music chosen was: Go Rest High on That Mountain, Why, and I Can Only Imagine. Following the service was a luncheon at the First Baptist Church in Perry. Interment will take place at the Jefferson Cemetery in Jefferson, Iowa. Caleb John Anderson was born March 29, 1988 at Jefferson, Iowa to Shon Florman and died December 21, 2013 at Perry, Iowa at the age of 25 years, 8 months and 23 days. Caleb was soon adopted by Troy and Lisa Anderson and grew up in the Perry area graduating from Perry High School in 2007. Caleb worked at several jobs with the last being with Adams Door Company in Des Moines. He was an excellent welder and that was what he truly loved doing. Caleb had a son, Bryan, age 4 and a daughter, Maya, age 3 weeks with Elsa Loaiza-Valdez and all lived in Perry. Caleb enjoyed fishing, spending time with friends and four-wheeling. He also loved to go to tailgate parties in Ames. Caleb was preceded in death by his grandfather and best buddy, Dean Wistenberg. He is survived by his parents: Troy and Lisa Anderson of Perry; his birth mother Shon Blake (Larry) of Jefferson; son Bryan and daughter Maya Anderson of Perry; the children's mother Elsa Loaiza-Valdez of Perry; sisters Shera, Chloe and Carly Anderson of Perry; brother Paul Blake of Jefferson and step brothers Robert Harms and Timothy Blake of Jefferson; Grandmothers Lois Wistenberg of Jefferson and Janis Myers of Perry and Grandparents Dean and Eleanor Anderson of Perry; aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends. www.hastingsfh.com
