Catherine (Kay) Alice Davis was born September 19, 1923 in Story City, Iowa to John and Rosa (Leininger) Baldus. She married Clarence E. Davis on August 24, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa. Catherine was an active member of the Basilica of Saint John for 67 years. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing bingo and most of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Catherine passed away Monday, December 8, 2014 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Basilica of Saint John. Burial will follow in the Iowa Veterans Cemetery. A wake service will be from 4:00 6:30 p.m., Thursday December 11 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory with a Rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Catherine is survived by her husband, Clarence (Chuck); children, Sandra Cook, Barbara Dennis, Larry Davis, Joan Mickle, John Davis, Don Davis and Jim Davis; sister, Rose Helland; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 10 siblings. Memorial contributions may be given to the Basilica of Saint John or Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
