Cenell Lane, 95, passed away October 16, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by her family and loved ones. Cenell was born December 06, 1922 in Jefferson, Georgia to Bailey and Golie (Mack) Haynes. She was working at Fort Bragg Army Base in South Carolina when she met her future husband, Coleman Lane, Sr. They were married May 29, 1947 in Dillon, South Carolina. Together they had two children, Coleman and Linda. Cenell’s husband was in the United States Air Force, which took the whole family around the world. She was a homemaker and regardless of the state or country they lived in, she made sure everywhere they lived was home. After her husband passed away in 1996, Cenell moved from Oscoda, Michigan to Urbandale to be close to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting and crafts, especially the handmade Christmas envelopes. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed designing and making quilts. She loved being around her family and was the happiest when family was around. She is survived by her children, Coleman (Linda) Lane, and Linda (Dan) Franker; grandchildren, CJ (Melcia) Lane, Alicia Lane, Whitney (Danny) Lawler, and Ryan Franker; great-grandchildren, Camden Lane and Brooks Lawler and extended family, Larry and Sherry Blomberg along with their children, as well as many friends. A private family visitation and service will be held. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
