Chad Michael Lemon was born on September 24, 1985, in Des Moines, Iowa, he was the son of Keith and Beverly (McDaniel) Lemon. Growing up in Grimes, Chad's journey of life was marked by his deep connections with family, friends, and his passions. He graduated from Dallas Center Grimes High School in 2004. Chad was an Eagle Scout which shaped who he was as he spent his life demonstrating dedication, helpfulness, and kindness, and every trait of an Eagle Scout to make lasting impressions on every person he met.
On September 29, 2019, Chad exchanged vows with the love of his life, Heather Lawnicki. Chad was a devoted father to their daughter, Michaela, who was his pride and joy as well as his "mini me". Chad would always brag that being a father was life changing and that he loved it. The title of "girl dad" was one he wore with pride, and his love for Michaela was evident in every interaction they shared.
Chad had a range of passions that brought joy and meaning to his life. He had a deep love for fishing, and hunting, finding solace in nature and the time spent there with family and friends. His love for classic cars was a defining aspect of his identity, and he took great pleasure in attending car shows and working on these vehicles for himself, and with his father. The world of gaming also held a special place in Chad's heart, allowing him to connect with others, leaving lasting impressions on those he interacted with around the world, as well as spending quality time strengthening bonds with his wife and daughter.
Chad died Sunday, August 6, 2023, at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines. He was 37 years old.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Heather, and their precious daughter, Michaela. He leaves behind a rich legacy, with children Tiffany (Michael) Farrar and Savannah Edwards, as well as a grandson, Cylus. Chad's parents, Keith and Beverly, and his sister, Jessica Lemon - VanHaaften (Adam VanHaaften), along with their children Alexandria, Barrett, and Finley, will forever hold his memory close. Additionally, he is remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who were touched by his kind heart and genuine spirit.
Chad was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Earl and Rose Ann Lemon, and his maternal grandparents, Wendall and Betty Raitt.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Chad's honor, to the family for Michaela.
