Chad Morman, age 39 of Perry, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2023, near Bouton, IA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Perry High School Gymnasium in Perry. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Chad Edward Morman was born on November 9, 1983, in Des Moines, IA to Dwayne Lee and Frances Johanna (Hinz) Morman. He graduated from Perry High School, and then attended Iowa Central Community College, Fort Dodge, IA, and obtained a Carpentry Degree. Later he attended DMACC in Perry for Welding. He joined the United States Army National Guard on December 12, 2001, as a crane operator. He served for 6 years in 1034th Quartermaster Company. Over the next 4 years he split time between 831st Company and Alpha Distribution 334th Brigade Support Battalion. He deployed with Alpha Distribution Company 334th Brigade Support Battalion to Afghanistan on August 8, 2010, to September 19, 2011. After returning from deployment, he served with Camp Dodge Joint Maneuver Training Center, his current assignment. His service medals include, Army Achievement Medal 2nd Award, National Service Defense Medal, NATO Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with 2 Campaign Stars, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, and the Iowa National Guard Humanitarian service Ribbon. He was united in marriage to Bailey Lynn Lott at Camp Dodge on March 17, 2018. He worked at The Chad Construction, DM Construction, Perry Paint & Glass, taught Building Trades/Welding at DMACC in Perry, taught Building Trades at Greene County Community School, and taught Industrial Tech/Building Trades at Perry High School. He was a member of the Perry Elks Lodge and was a National Eagle Scout. Chad enjoyed ATV Racing, doing volunteer work, helping with Habitat for Humanity, delivering veterans baskets through the Perry Elks Lodge, motorcycle riding, camping, all varieties of music, and watching movies. In death he rejoins his paternal grandparents, Lucille and Clarence Morman, maternal grandparents, Jack and Katie Edmondson, uncles Alan Hinz, Wes Sherman, and Art Morman, aunts, Toodie Norem, and Shirley Anderson, cousins, Dave (Toad) Haseman, Jan Hutchens, April Simmons and her daughter Addison, and Jimmy Love, and a chosen brother, Josh Davis. Left to cherish Chads memory are his wife Bailey Morman, children, April, Bo, and Chance Morman, parents, Dwayne and Frances Morman, brother, Eric (Ashlee) Morman, mother-in-law, Lori Lott, father-in-law, Mark Lott, nieces, Bristtol, Taylor, Kassidy, Alissa, and Zoe, nephews, Noah, Huntter, Owen, and Cain and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his chosen family.
