Charlene “Char” Shives, 84, West Des Moines passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 19, 2020. Char was born on August 21, 1936 to Charles and Blanche Rogers in Marceline, MO. Char enjoyed many things in life, such as quilting and being out in the garden. She had a strong faith and was a loving mom and nana. Char is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Griffiths and Nancy Shives; son, Greg (Tara) Shives; grandchildren, Josh (Megan) Griffiths, Cody (Ashley) Griffiths, Channing Shives, and Aidan Kugley; and great granddaughter, Elora. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard of 64 years. Per Char’s wishes, no services are planned.
