Charles “Chuck” Floyd Bowles, 85, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2019. A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 4-6:30 P.M at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home - McCalley Chapel in Adel. A funeral service will be held, January 16, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Adel. Chuck was born on January 19, 1933 in Arnet, Oklahoma to Nonie and Nellie (Harmon) Bowles. Chuck married Joan (Peitzman) Bowles on March 30, 1952 in Dallas Center. Together they had two sons, Ervin and Dennis. He spent his career as a meat cutter at the Redfield Locker retiring after 25 years. Chuck enjoyed camping on the weekends and playing cards or marbles on Saturday nights with his family and friends who he loved dearly. He was a phenomenal woodworker and enjoyed selling his pieces and making things for his family. Later in life, Chuck began traveling to Mission, TX during the winter months where he made many new friends. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Pietzman) Bowles; son, Dennis (Rhonda) Bowles; grandchildren, Jennifer (Doug) Cook, Angie Bowles and Vincent (Lacy) Long; siblings, Andy, Florence, Pat, Fern, Louise, and Rita; along with numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Ervin Bowles. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Adel Methodist Church and St. Croix Hospice.
