Charles F. Newquist

Charles was born September 15, 1926 in Des Monies, Iowa, the son of Charles and Marie (Martin) Newquist. He has lived in Winterset since 1992 and prior to that he lived in Des Moines. Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Robert Newquist of Minnestota; Mari Silver of Des Moines; Cathy Newquist and husband James Walker of Gordele, GA; a sister, Betty Jo Newquist of Des Moines; a brother, Andrew Newquist of Florida, five grandchildren (Jason, Matthew, Adam, Rosie and Shelby) and five great grandchildren (Brooke, Mattex, Jason, Hunter and Holly). He was preceded in death by his parents. Charles was a truck driver and made this his career for 34 years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Charles was a very intelligent man who loved to read and watch the history and weather channels. He was particularly interested in trains and had collected many videos related to this hobby. Visitation: 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at The Church of the Nazarene. Service: Memorials may be directed to the church. Memorial: There will be no visitation. January 31, 2007 at the church, however, a lunch for family and friends will begin at Noon on Wednesday in the church fellowship hall prior to the service.
