On Thursday, January 2, 2025, Charquan Mylick Hargove, 32 of Des Moines, IA was sadly taken away from us.

Charquan was born on November 21, 1992 to Wayne L. Gholson and Charlette Morse.

Charquan was known by family and friends as Quan.

Quan received his education in Mecklenburg County, VA. He attended Bluestone Sr. High School, in Skipwith, VA. It was there at Bluestone that he played football and baseball. Quan later attended Park View High School in South Hill, VA. It was at Park View that he graduated.

Quan believed in working and after graduating from Park View, he moved to Des Moines, IA and started working with Gary Crute, Jr. at GQ Fencing. Quan was the proud owner of “Big Mug Bullies.” This was an AKC registered Dog Breeding Business.

Whenever you saw Quan, you saw his three precious and beautiful daughters with him. He was a loving and devoted father. His daughters loved him.

Quan was a music lover. He wrote music and some of what he wrote, he performed it on his AKA’s FaceBook Page. The two songs that got the most hits were, “Streetsdafool” and “Himonehunnit.” He shared his love of music with his daughters. Not only did he show them how to play different instruments but he had them playing what he had showed them.

Charquan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Helen Hargrove of Boydton, VA, Joseph and Ruby Gholson of Dinwiddie, VA; uncles and aunts, Elmore, Sr. and Helen Cole, John Hargrove, Sr., Harry L Tucker, Jr., Walter Richardson, Sr. all of Boydton, VA, Christine Pulliam of Des Moines, IA, Arthur, Jr. and Emma Hargrove of Petersburg, VA, Joseph, Jr. (Jody) Gholson of Dinwiddie, VA and his cousin Carnell Richardson, Sr. of Boydton, VA.

He leaves behind his loving memories, his mother, Charlette Morse of Lynchburg, VA; his father, Wayne L. Gholson (Yolonda) of Dinwiddie, VA; loving companion; three beautiful daughters, Averie, Riley, Jadin Hargove all of Des Moines, IA; his siblings, Tyquisha Chavis, Jakaela Gholson, Brandon (Pete) Green of Petersburg, VA, Ariana Harrison (Dominic Smith) of Newport News, VA, Helana Hargove of Lynchburg, VA; aunts and uncles, Nell Richardson, James and Willie Anna Jefferson, Carolyn Fleming, Diane Hargrove, Mary V. Tucker all of Boydton, VA, Harvey Hargrove, Douglas and Patricia Lewis of West Des Moines, IA, Tommy and Jerry Hargrove of Des Moines, IA, Vernon and Tonya Hargrove of Chase City, VA, Gail Gholson of Petersburg, VA, Sharon Gholson, Claudette Gholson of Dinwiddie, VA, Ken Gholson of Hopewell, VA, Carolyn and Ernest Demps of San Diego, CA; great uncles and great aunts, Hermon Jones of New York, Edward and Brenda Jones, Janet Brown, Joan Gholson all of Petersburg, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 2PM-6PM at Carter's Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11AM at the Saint Paul's Baptist Church, 595 Jefferson Street, Boydton, VA 23917.

Burial will take place at the New St. Douglas Baptist Church Cemetery, 1929 Ridge Road, Boydton, VA 23917

Reverend Linda B. Goode will deliver the eulogy. Continue to keep this family in your prayers.
