Christopher Hannon, 42, a life-long resident of Winterset, died unexpectedly on August 18, 2017 in Madison County. Chris is survived by his children, Jack and Jessica Hannon of Winterset; girlfriend, Stacey Naber, of Winterset; parents, Charles (Paula) Hannon of Winterset and Vicki Hannon of Baxter; siblings, Kelly (Mike) Ayers and their children, Carter and Townsend, of Waukee, Mike (Cari) Hannon and their children, Tyler and Cole, of Johnston, Matthew Hannon of Berwind, West Virginia, and Nichole Carroll and her children, Gavin and Madelyn, of Norwalk. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Esther and Donald Hannon. Christopher was born October 23, 1974 in Winterset, IA. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1994 and later earned a degree in business from William Penn University. Chris was a loving and devoted father to Jack and Jessica and did all that he could to bring fun and adventure to their lives. He was passionate about his walk with Christ and was an active member of Redeemer Church in Winterset. He was involved in several coffee clubs, addiction recovery advocacy, and recently in theater at The Winterset Stage. He was a very enthusiastic employee of Hy-Vee, where his passion for people and love for life shone bright. Chris was an avid lover of baseball, especially the New York Yankees. His infectious smile and sense of humor made an impact on many and he will be greatly missed by all. Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, August 24th from 5:00-8:00 PM at the New Bridge Church in Winterset. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 25th, also at the New Bridge Church, with Rev. Dr. John Shaull and Pastor Jaysson Gurwell officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow. Memorials may be directed to the Redeemer Church of Winterset. Funeral arrangements are being handled by McCalley-Collins Funeral Home in Winterset.
