Clara Raymond

Clara Fern Raymond, daughter of Ralph C. Bowman and Myra J. McLaughlin wasborn August 25, 1914 at Coon Rapids, Iowa and died February 11, 2007 at the Bayard Care Center in Bayard, Iowa at the age of 92 years. Fern, as she was fondly known, grew up in Coon Rapids and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1933. She married Gerald Raymond on APril 27, 1935 in Omaha, Nebraska. They were parents of Colleen, Bill and Doug. Gerald died in July of 1999 and a year and a half later she entered the Bayard Care Center. Fern's family was very important to her and she enjoyed her home, intertaining, cooking, baking, reading and her church, the Bayard Church of Christ. She also enjoyed her memberships in the Bayard Women's Club and the Community Bible Study. Fern was preceded in death by her parents, jusband Gerald, great grandson, Christopher Raymon, brother Allan and three sisters, Helen McGuire, Caroline Olson, and Ruth Herron. She is survived by her daughter, Colleen Poole and husband David of Bayard; sons, Bill Raymond and wife Peggy of Avon Park, FL, and Doug Raymond and wife Joyce of Des Moines; seven grandchildren, Mary Lynne Ellis and husband Randy of Trumbull, NE, Ron Raymond and wife Ellen of Washington,IN, John Poole and wife Aimee of Union, KY, Rodney Raymond and wife Janice of St. Joseph, MO, Rene Watson and husband Larry of Auburn, IN, Cindy Raymondof Lincoln, ILL, Scott Raymond and wife Kari of Apple Valley, MN, 13 great-grandchilrend; brother, Warren Bowman and wife Wilma of Audubon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
