Claude Lecocq

June 11, 1915 — September 22, 2009

Claude was born June 11, 1915 in Lorimor, Iowa, the son of Reuben and Ethel (Davis) LeCocq. He married Edith Addy and to this union a daughter, Phrana was born. Claude is survived by his daughter, Phrana Fisher and husband, Mike of Winterset; one granddaughter, Lori Coellner and husband, Linn of Waukee; two great-grandchildren, Brad and Amanda Jackson of Waukee; two step-grandsons, Mike Fisher and wife, Jaime of Adel; Mark Fisher and wife, Lori of Waterloo; and five step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith; and a brother, Ward LeCocq. Claude was a life-long farmer in Madison County. He loved history and was keenly aware of the history of Madison County, Iowa. He loved to fish and made many fishing adventures to Idaho, Canada and many other local fishing spots. He was an avid reader who even in his last days was determined to get his library books back to the Winterset Library on time. Claude was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was deliberate in thought and word as well as having a great sense of humor. He was a member of the First Christian Church and served as Past President of the Holliwell Country School Board. Visitation: 1:00 to 8:00 with family present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. September 24, 2009 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare, Winterset, Iowa Service: 10:30 a.m. September 25, 2009 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare Memorial: Memorials may be directed to Middle River Hospice of Winterset or Friends of the Winterset Library.
