Claudia Chapman

On Sunday, September 17, 2023 we had to say goodbye to our mom Claudia Elaine (Kinross) Chapman. Mom had been residing at Perry Lutheran Home in Perry, IA, where she had sustained a fall which resulted with a broken hip. This required us to bring in hospice care. We chose to take her to Adel Acres where she would be surrounded by family and friends.

Mom was brought into this world by her parents, Robert & Gladys (Bennett) Kinross of Perry, IA, to whom she was an only child. Mom lived in Perry her whole life until she married our dad (Kenny Chapman). Then they were then blessed with us!!! They decided to name all 4 of us amazingly awesome (or so they told us) Terry, Tammy, Teresa & Todd. All starting with the letter T.

As a family, we remember camping, boating, snowmobiling & always surrounded by family & friends. As time went by and mom & dad divorced, Mom met Earl Nielsen. She enjoyed riding along in his semi and they lived together for years. Mom’s love of animals was so heartwarming. If there was a stray cat, they ended up finding mom.

Sadly, mom ended up with Alzheimer’s, which is one of the most heart wrenching diseases a family goes through. At that point we realized just how much support she had surrounding her. These people brought so much comfort to her and her family. We were truly blessed to have her as a mom.

She is survived by her children Terry & Teresa (Ross) Chapman, Tammy Howe & Bret Moothart, Teresa Adamson & Randy Wallace, Todd & Chris (Bohn) Chapman, 10 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren.
