Claydon Polzin

Claydon Polzin, age 90, of Waukee, went home peacefully to Jesus on Friday, August 19, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – McCalley Chapel in Adel. His children will greet friends and family at the funeral home for one hour before the service on Saturday. Burial will be held at a later date. Claydon was born on September 21, 1931 in rural South Dakota. He was a member of the Resurrection Church in Ankeny. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and a retired U.S. Postal Service employee. He enjoyed reading, comics, spending with family and good conversation. Claydon rarely went anywhere without meeting someone he knew. Claydon is survived by his three children, Paulette (Michael) Philpott, Clay (Shel) Polzin and Cathilyn Polzin; three grandchildren, Carlie (Alex) Philpott, Ryan Philpott and Jenna Polzin; five great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Caleb, Tristan, Traxton and Trycen Philpott; and his sister, Donna Magedanz. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marion; his parents; two brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Korean War Veterans Association.
