Cole Thomas Peterson

Cole Thomas Peterson was born April 29, 1982 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Mike ‘Pete’ and Jessica (Summers) Peterson. He attended and graduated from East Union High School. His marriage to Cassie Peterson took place on May 13, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Cassie of Lorimor; his parents, Mike ‘Pete’ and Jessica Peterson of Lorimor; a daughter, Sidney Elizabeth Peterson at home; a brother, Michael Peterson II of Lorimor; paternal grandmother, Helen Newsom of West Des Moines; aunts and uncles, Butch (Rhonda) Summers of Des Moines, Thelma (George) Chapman of Indianola, Nicolene Wheeler of Des Moines, Frances (Bill) Fairweather of Greeley, CO, Sandra Grandstaff of Des Moines, Shari Brown of Eldon, MO; father-in-law, Bill (Sarah) Thorn of Des Moines; mother-in-law, Jayne (Jim) Bennett of Bellevue, OH; sister-in-law, Arwen Thorn of Des Moines; and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Pat Heuton and paternal grandfather George Newsom. Cole’s passion was music. He was a true musician who played guitar, sang and wrote lyrics. He also worked at the Afton preschool for three years. He attended Word of Life Family Church and the Cornerstone Family Churches during his lifetime. Above all, Cole was a great son and brother, a loving husband, a devoted father and a friend to everyone he knew. Cole died Saturday, July 21, 2007, at his home in Lorimor, Iowa. He was 25.
