Services for Coleen Rosella Meier, 70, of Ogden, Iowa will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bouton, Iowa with burial at the Peoples Cemetery in Bouton. Visitation will be after noon on Wednesday September 12, 2012 with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry. Coleen is survived by her children Rosetta (Jerry) Moore of Ogden, Kevin (Kathy) Meier, of Ogden and Brian Meier of Ogden; sisters: Shirley VanDeventer of Adel and Jane Morean of Peru, Iowa; sister-in-law LuAnn (Don) Carhill of Ogden, and aunt Mary Ludwig of Casey, Iowa. Memorials may be sent to Hastings Funeral Home in Perry.Coleen Rosella Meier daughter of Jessie Crawley and Alta Burns-Crawley, was born July 1, 1942 in Redfield, Iowa and died September 9, 2012 at the Boone County Hospital in Boone, Iowa. She was 70 years old. Coleen was born in Guthrie County and grew up in Dallas County where she attended school. She graduated from Minburn High School in 1961. On November 26, 1961 Coleen was married to Warren William Meier at the Dallas Center United Methodist Church. The couple moved to Ogden, Iowa and they were blessed with 3 children Kevin, Brian, and Rosetta. Coleen enjoyed reading, puzzles, puzzle books, and gardening. Coleen is preceded in death by her parents Jessie and Alta Crawley; husband Warren Meier (12-23-06); sister Evelyn Crawley; two brothers Harley Crawley and Jim Crawley. Coleen will be dearly remembered by her sons Kevin (Kathy) Meier of Ogden and Brian Meier of Ogden; daughter Rosetta (Jerry) Moore also of Ogden; sisters Shirley VanDeventer of Adel and Jane (Max) Marean of Peru, Iowa; aunt Mary Dora Ludwig of Casey; 4 grandchildren: Keli Meier, Kimberly Meier (Brian Rhodes), Justin Moore, and Ryan Moore all of Ogden; sister-in-law LuAnn (Don) Carhill of Ogden; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends www.hastingsfh.com
