Connie S. Songer

Connie S. Songer, 60, of Patterson died July 6, 2016, at her home. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 10, at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where her family will be present to receive friends during this time. Burial will be in the Montpelier Cemetery, near Patterson at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family and online condolences may be left at ochiltree.com. Connie Sue Wetzel was born April 25, 1956 in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Chancey and Mayola (DeBok) Wetzel. She graduated from Winterset High School in 1974 and on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1990 she married her husband, Ed Songer, at her home. Connie was a homemaker most of her working years. She was not one to join groups but rather enjoyed any time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was also a devoted wife who loved to cheer on her husband during his racing events. She also loved to collect cook books. She is survived by her daughter, Rashelle (Kevin) Elliott of Atlantic; three sons, Jesse Songer (Josie Sorenson), Matthew (Tina) Songer and Nick (Jordan) Songer all of Winterset; 11 grandchildren, Chancey Richards, Cheyenne Elliott, Dakota, Jayce, Dalton, Sadie, Kaylee, Jaydon, Barrett Songer, Gage and Carter Booth; a brother, Jim (Terri) Wetzel of Winterset; nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ed who died December 29, 2015, and a brother, John Wetzel. ©
