Cora Almina Plymesser Slight - Adel

Cora was born March 16, 1924 to John and Mary Roberts in Dexter, IA. She passed away July 24, 2014 surrounded by family, in Adel, IA. Cora married Dale Plymesser in 1946. She had seven children from that union. In 1980, she married Audra Slight, adding another six stepchildren and they spent 29 wonderful years together. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, July 28th, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel with burial at Panther Creek Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Sunday, July 27th at the funeral home where family will greet friends from 3:00 - 5:00 PM with prayer service at 5:00 PM. Cora is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a sister (Violet Jensen), and two brothers (Ivan and Claude Roberts). She is survived by a sister Alice (Dean) Luhrs; her children: Connie Glenn, John (Jean) Plymesser, Nancy Stringer, Gale (Virginia) Plymesser, LuAnn Plymesser, Mary (John) Irwin, Stella Fister; stepchildren: Sondra Short, Dean (Mary) Slight, Richard (Dolores) Slight, Teresa Gage, Larry (Jenny) Slight, Donald (Carol) Slight; 36 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends. The family would like to say a special thank-you to the staff at Adel Acres Care Center and Saint Jude Hospice for their kind and loving care of Cora.
