Corrine M. Darr, 84 of Winterset passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Madison County Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. A memorial service was held at Iowa Veterans Cemetery Chapel near Van Meter on Tuesday, March 16 with Pastor Mark Morehouse officiating. Corrine was born in Ogden, IA to Herman and Pearl Cook on April 9, 1936. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1954 and moved to Omaha for 6 months and then to Des Moines where she met her future husband. Once married, she resided on a farm near Polk City for 10 years until moving to Madison County. Corrine was a homemaker and helped her husband farm. She loved sewing, gardening, baking desserts, her Ogden High School Bulldogs, roller skating, square dancing, coffee with friends, reading to her grandkids, and traveling. She was a kind and loving person. She was married 60 wonderful years to R. Laverne Darr of Polk City. They were married on March 4, 1961 at the Ogden Methodist Church. Corrine is survived by her husband, Laverne Darr of Winterset (Patterson); children, Terry Darr of Winterset, Diane (Jim) Weyrauch of Denver, CO, and Laurie (Art) Senn of Waukee, IA; grandchildren, Emily Weyrauch, Patrick Weyrauch, Ryan Weyrauch, and Jamie Senn; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marlin and Deanna Darr of Grimes, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Pearl (Williams) Cook; brothers, Floyd and Carl; brother-in-law, Tom (Liz) Darr of Fort Dodge, IA. The family would like to thank the staff at Madison County Memorial Hospital and EveryStep Hospice for the wonderful care and support during her final days.
