Craig Eugene Springer, son of Harold Eugene and Mary Louise Stofer Springer, was born August 2, 1955 in Jefferson, Iowa. He died of a heart attack October 28th, 2023 at Avery Holy Family Medical Center in Estherville, Iowa. He was 68 years old. Craig was educated in Guthrie Center Community Schools and graduated in 1974. Craig made a living working with his hands. He worked as a butcher, worked in construction and cabinet making, restoring cars, and making prosthetic limbs. He was artistically talented especially in drawing with ink. One of his drawings was submitted by his high school art teacher and was chosen to be displayed at the Iowa State Capital rotunda for 3 months. He enjoyed pheasant hunting, fishing, and car races. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one brother Paul, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his sisters Donna Cyr and her husband Don of Bristol, CT, Debra Jensen and her husband Paul of Adel, Iowa, and Julie Kipp and her husband Kevin of Yale, Iowa, brother Raymond Springer and his wife Kimberley of Des Moines, Iowa, 10 nieces and nephews, 12 great-nieces and great-nephews, and one aunt, Florence Siegenthaler, of Jefferson, Iowa, and numerous cousins and friends. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 at the Franklin Township Cemetery in Cooper, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:15 a.m. at the Cabbage Rose (313 State Street in Guthrie Center) followed by a luncheon. The family is requesting no flowers please. Memorials may be sent to the funeral home. Hastings Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of these arrangements.
