Craig B. Sandahl, 74, of Johnston, IA, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at the VA Central Iowa Healthcare System in Des Moines, IA. A visitation will be held at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale, IA on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 10:00 A.M., followed by a memorial service beginning at 12:00 P.M. Craig was born on August 16, 1950 to Craig Williams and Elizabeth (Lytle) Sandahl in Spirit Lake, IA. He was drafted into the United States Army in March of 1970 and was discharged in October of 1971. Craig served in the Vietnam War. Afterward, he worked as a union carpenter before branching out on his own to establish his business, CBS Construction. On April 22, 1978 he married Cindy Hardisty in West Des Moines, IA. Craig was a part of the Corvette Club of Iowa. You could find Craig enjoying muscle cars, racing his car and being outdoors. He was a huge social butterfly and loved to be with friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Cindy Sandahl of Johnston, IA, three children, Stescey (Ron) Blum of Urbandale, IA, Conrad Sandahl of Polk City, IA, Eric Sandahl of Johnston, IA, three grandchildren, Brice Sandahl, Gyllian Gaffney, Gabriella Gaffney, one brother, Steve (Judy) Sandahl, three sisters, Suzy (Mel) Miller, Elise Donnon, Karin Sandahl and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
