Cynthia Ann Farrington, born in Fairfax, VA took her last breath on Thursday, Dec 3 in Des Moines, IA. She is survived by her parents, John & Suzanne Farrington, her brother and sister, her four children and seven grandchildren. Though she spent a lifetime battling demons, Cindy made sure to impart happiness and contentment with every person she met. A beautiful soul, she came to accept Christ as her Savior, and made Love a central tenant to her character. The well-known Serenity Prayer was an ideal she cherished in her heart, and it transcribed to her actions. Like the ocean, Cindy had an incredibly strong will and soul-fitting, since she deemed the ocean her true home on this Earth. The creative power of the ocean transferred to her mind and hands, as it is apparent with her artwork-phenomenal. It should be no surprise, however, that her talents were not exclusive just to her creative mind, nor Loving heart. Cindy's careers consisted of being a Registered Nurse and a Veterinarian Technician. She channeled her compassion of animals, and health of her fellow brothers and sisters, and was able to express it in the form of healing and preventative care. Surely, Cindy will be missed by countless people, but the moments that friends and family spent with her will be cherished. Her legacy of smiles and compassion will be carried on through anyone that had the pleasure of knowing, or even just meeting her. Her life was filled with many emotions, things, and variety of people-it was her consistent attitude toward those life aspects that contributed to her colorful and vibrant character. In a beautiful poetic ending, her soul has joined the Kingdom that matches it, leaving her dark world behind. This Friday, the 11th, will be a celebration of this departure and arrival. The family invites all those who wish to join, to make the trip for it. The service commemorating her life will take place in Adel at McCalley Funeral Home at 735 S. 14th Street. Visitation/Meet-and-Greet hours will start at 1 pm, and memorial service will start at 3pm. The message will be addressed by Pastor Andrew Hermanson, from Hope Lutheran. Certainly not an obligation nor is it expected, however, if anybody would like to make donations, there will be envelopes in the lobby of the Funeral Home to be given to the Iowa Homeless Youth Shelter.
