Daisy Elizabeth Kersey

February 26, 1932 — March 3, 2023

Daisy Elizabeth Kersey, daughter of George Robert MacDonald and Hazel Dell Frankhouser MacDonald, was born February 26, 1932 in Scranton, Iowa. She graduated from Churdan High School in 1950. Daisy met the love of her life, Charles Duane Kersey and the two were united in marriage on July 21, 1950. The couple was blessed with four children: Greg, Jeff, Mark, and Lori. Daisy worked at an ice cream parlor/drug store, then was a bus driver for the PC school district, was a cashier at Casey's Store in Churdan along with handling all the responsibilities as a farm wife and mother. While residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico she was a Rehabilitation Patient Transportation Attendant/Driver. She loved traveling, collecting antiques, precious moments, angels, and going to church. Daisy was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Churdan, First Baptist Church in Churdan, and the First Christian Church in Perry. She did commercial cleaning in Perry at the Perry Park Apartments for over 20 years. Daisy died March 3, 2023 at Panora Specialty Care. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Hazel, her husband Duane, her son Greg, her grandson Wade Fenn, two brothers Homer MacDonald and Chris MacDonald, and two sisters Beatrice Turner (Charles) and Shirley Jacobson (Harold). Daisy is survived by her sons Jeff Kersey (Renee) of Ohio, and Mark Kersey (Kim) of Churdan; daughter Lori Kersey-Fenn (Steve) of Olathe, Kansas; eight grandchildren: Dillon Fenn, Zachary Fenn, Sierra Moreno (Jose), Nichole Flinn (Eric), Tiffany Kersey, Brooke Minnehan, Alisha Thoburn (Dan), and Jenna Omokanye (Seyi); seventeen great-grandchildren: Alex Rios-Fenn, Kersey Fenn, Yaneli Moreno, Isabel Moreno, Fallyn Moreno, Cullin Flinn, Bayllie Flinn (Harrison Johnston), Laynne Ostrander (Justin), Noah Johnson, Gretah Kersey, Bella Johnson, Ava Minnehan, Hallee Minnehan, Lincoln Thoburn, Lily Thoburn, Ara Omokanye, and Ayo Omokayne; two step great-grandchildren: Milagros Moreno and Jose Moreno Jr.; three great-great-grandchildren: Magnolia Johnston, Marleigh Johnston, and Berkley Ostrander; other relatives; special relative/friend Jean Higgins; and many friends. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson.
