Dakota Christian Lisle was born on October 14, 1997 in Waterloo, Iowa to Stephen Forrest Lisle and Tonya Michelle (Davis) Lisle. When he was 4 years old his family moved to Woodward. Dakota graduated from Woodward-Granger High School in 2016. He attended Iowa Central Community College for theatre. Dakota loved the theatre and held many parts in high school, college, and at the Iowa Falls Community Theatre. He worked as a telemarketer for a little while before working as a library tech in Alden. Dakota would go to the local elementary school and read to the kids. He was such a giving person and volunteered his time at the Alden food pantry. Dakota loved playing games online and developed many lasting friendships through doing this. He even traveled to Seattle, Washington last May to meet one of his groups in person. The highlights of his trip were how great the food was, time with his friends, seeing Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone National Park. Dakota fought cancer so bravely and did it with such a great spirit each day. He developed such strong bonds with all of his doctors and nursing staff. On April 24, 2024 Dakota's body could not fight anymore. Such a talented young man was taken too soon. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Rolland Lisle, and his uncle Blaine Lisle. Dakota's memory will last forever in the hearts of his loved ones. He is survived by his parents Stephen and Tonya Lisle of Woodward; his brother Gage Lisle of Johnston; his sisters Macy Lisle of Woodward, and Mylee Lisle of Woodward; his grandparents: Paul and Joy Siewert of Hubbard, Linda Lisle of Alden, and Earl & Sandy Davis of Austin, MN; his uncle Bret Davis of Des Moines; other relatives, and many friends. *Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Perry.
