Dale Erickson

Dale Erickson, 87, of Johnston, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on April 25, 2016. Dale was born November 27, 1928 to Lloyd and Clara Erickson in Geneva, IA. Dale is survived by his wife, Faye, of 66 wonderful years. They have 3 children: Joy (Earl) Thornton of Granger, IA; Faythe (Howard) Landis of Clovis, CA; and Tim (Amy) Erickson of Johnston, IA. They have 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren: Erik (Glenda) Thornton, Emma and Samuel; Amy (Mark) Smock, Megan and Bailey; Jill Thornton; Justin (Jen) Landis, Ani and Miles; and Blake Landis. Dale is also survived by his sister Doris Sturtz of Phoenix, AZ. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lloyd Jr. Dale was a building contractor in the Des Moines area. His family was his pride and joy; his faith in Jesus Christ was his foundation. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather; and he will be deeply missed by them all. First Assembly of God has been Dale's home church since he was fifteen years old. He served as a Board member there for 35 years. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at First Assembly of God, 2725 Merle Hay Rd. Funeral Services will be Friday, April 29, 2016 at 10am at First Assembly. Graveside Ceremony will be Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2pm in Madrid, IA.
