It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Clint Ahrens announces his passing on May 29th, 2021. Daniel Ahrens was born February 28th, 1960 to Burdell Ahrens and Hattie Stiles, in Rantoul, Illinois. He moved to Newton, Iowa in 1969, with his father, loving stepmother, Elfriede Ahrens and 5 siblings. Daniel graduated from Newton High School in 1978. Then on July 5th, 1980, Daniel married the love of his life, Soni Bebout, also of Newton, Iowa. Daniel and Soni created a home together all over the state of Iowa, moving and working for Fareway Stores since 1981. Daniel’s greatest joy was becoming a father, welcoming two amazing sons into the world, Ryan and Tyler. Dan loved spending time with his family, traveling with his wife and exploring the outdoors with anyone who would come along. Spending as much time outdoors fishing, walking barefoot everywhere and showing his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews all the wonderful treasures, the earth had to offer. On warm days, riding his can-am with his Soni, was his little moments of heaven. Always remembered by his wife, Soni Ahrens, currently of Adel, Iowa; sons, Ryan (Megan) Ahrens of LeMars, Iowa and Tyler (Amanda) Ahrens of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 5 beautiful grandchildren, Hadley, Sylvie, Elowyn, Cade and Elliott; mother, Freda Ahrens of Newton, Iowa; brothers and sisters, Donnie (Cheryl) Ahrens, Belinda Sue (Susie) Rawlins, Valera (Biss) Eatwell and Duncan (Elizabeth) Ahrens; half-brother, Patrick (Jeanie) Vicario; half-sister, Diana Edwards; and countless others that will never forget the love Dan had for life and living every minute to the fullest. Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Burdell Ahrens; mother, Hattie Stiles; brother, Dennis Ahrens; and nephew, Jesse Ahrens.
