Daniel C. Willems - Adel

Daniel Clark Willems, 50, passed away peacefully December 13, 2015 surrounded by his family, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines after a 3 _ year courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday December 19, 2015 at Faith Lutheran Church in Adel with burial at Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call after NOON Friday at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel where family will greet friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 8:00 p.m. Dan was born May 19, 1965 in Webster City to Arthur and Judy Willems. Following graduation from Northeast Hamilton High, Dan attended NIACC in Mason City. He worked for Citi Group for 27 years most recently as Vice President of Operations and Support. Dan's favorite hobbies included motorcycle riding, golf, attending sporting events of his children, cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and spending time with his family. He will be remembered by his witty jokes and contagious smile. You could always count on a grizzly bear hug and a good laugh from his remarks. Dan is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cherrie, son Logan, daughter Hayley, his parents, three brothers, John (Jeanne), Ken (Becky), Ron (Lanette), several nieces, a nephew, and a brother, not by blood, Kelly Nicholson.
