Danny Dean Windus

On May 12, 1961 my parents Loren Dale and Marilyn Jean Windus and older sisters Linda Kay and Lori Jean celebrated my birth and I was introduced to all as Danny Dean Windus. I can’t believe that happened 57 years ago, but there are records on file in the Muscatine County Court House which can corroborate this claim. I married the woman of my dreams, and my life partner Catharine Alice on October 7th, 1989. Catharine brought two wonderful sons to our marriage. Andrew Joseph Hochstetler and Jason Matthew Hochstetler. Seeing these two fine men grow into who they were supposed to be brought a wonderful sense of meaning to our lives. I am so honored to of had the privilege of spending so many years sharing my life with Andrew and Jason. Andrew has blessed us with daughter in law Brandy and Jason has blessed us with daughter in law Kelly. Just when I thought I was too old to fall in love again, I became a grandfather, and my four grand-angels stole not only my heart, but also spent most of my money. Alix Olivia Hochstetler, Dane Wyatt Hochstetler, Westyn Christopher Johnson and Lucy Jane Hochstetler have enriched my life more than words can say. There are no buildings named after me; no monuments erected in my honor. But I DID have the chance to know and love each and every friend as well as all my family members. How much more blessed can a person be? I ask my friends and family to remember my contagious smile, sparkling blue eyes, gentle heart and inappropriate sense of humor I’ll leave you with this…please don’t cry because I’m gone; instead be happy that I was here.
