Darrell D. 'Dutch' Parkins

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset. A visitation will be held prior to services from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., Saturday morning. Burial will follow in the Jefferson-Goar Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family. -------------------------------- Darrell was born August 12, 1931 in rural Winterset, Iowa, the son of Pearl W. and Katherine (Shafer) Parkins. Darrell died Saturday, November 12, 2011. He was 80. Darrell is survived by his wife, Jan of Littleton, Colorado; a son Gregory Parkins (Kim) of Evergreen, Colorado; two daughters, Cindi Birney and Debbie Parkins of Lawrence, Kansas; a brother, Duane Parkins (Norma) of Des Moines; two sisters, Reva Reimann (Gerald) of DeSoto and Mary Klug (Keith) of Des Moines. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bill; and an infant sister, Sharon.
