David Hulbert, 64, of Winterset, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2020 at the North McDonald Cemetery, Madison County. Following CDC recommendations, we please ask that attendees use social distancing guidelines. Memorials in his name may be directed to the American Cancer Society. Dave was born on September 27, 1955 to Charles and Shirley Hulbert. He was a graduate of Winterset High School and went on to work for Schildberg Quarry shortly after graduation. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and was an excellent craftsman. He built beautiful, handmade clocks and tables. He also liked to get out and shoot targets. When he could, he loved to travel to Las Vegas to take in a show or two and give some of his money to the local casinos. Dave also enjoyed getting out to watch his nephews play baseball. Getting out to socialize with friends was important to him. He had a true love for God and was able to find peace with the Lord. Dave is survived by his mother, Shirley Hulbert; 1 niece; and 4 great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hulbert; sister, Diane Robbins; brother-in-law, John Robbins; great nephew, Dakota Thomas; and 1 niece.
