David T. Clark, 91, of Winterset, died Sunday, December 20, 2015 at West Bridge Care in Winterset. No services are planned at this time. David Thurman Clark, the son of Thurman and Louise (Butler) Clark was born February 7, 1924 in Madison County, Iowa. He grew up in Madison County and was a farmer all of his life; he especially loved raising cattle. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Winterset. David was united in marriage to Jeanette Nordby on September 24, 1950, in Tacoma, Washington, and she preceded him in death in 1986; he later married Lucy Clark on September 11, 1993. David's roots ran deep in Madison County. His great grandfather, George Clark, was one of the early settlers in the county, traveling in a covered wagon train from Guernsey County, Ohio, in 1859. David's great, great grandfather, John Clark, emigrated from Northern Ireland, and fought in the war of 1812. David is survived by his wife, Lucy Clark of Winterset; children, Edward (Andrea) Clark of St. Paul, MN and Elaine Rosencrants of West Des Moines; two grandchildren, Zoe (Scott) Clark Faber and Rachel Rosencrants; two great grandchildren, Phoebe and Chloe; several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Grace, Duncan, Geraldine, Charles, and an infant brother, Benjamin.
