Deborah L. Bergstrom

Deborah (Debbie) Lynn Jeneary Bergstrom, age 75, passed away on November 10, 2024 at Accura Healthcare in Knoxville, Iowa.

Debbie was born on March 21, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Delmar and Barbara (Robin) Killinger Jeneary. 

She graduated from high school in Oxford Junction, Iowa, in 1967, and went on to attend the University of Iowa. On December 21, 1968, she was united in marriage to Thomas Bergstrom in West Liberty, Iowa. She was a histopathology technician for several years at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. 

 After Tom received his M.D. degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Iowa, they eventually made their home in Winterset, where Dr. Bergstrom practiced medicine for over 30 years. Debbie was a proud and loving stay-at-home mom. She was an accomplished cook, and loved to prepare huge feasts on holidays.

Debbie is survived by two brothers, Dr. Tom Jeneary and his wife, Pam of LeMars and Scott Jeneary of West Des Moines; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and her special friends, Bill and Peggy Keul. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; son, Ted; her parents; and several aunts, uncles, and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024, at New Bridge Church in Winterset, with Rev. Mike Carlson officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will take place at the Winterset Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to New Bridge Church.
