Delbert E. Jensen

Delbert Eugene Jensen, son of Elmer Chris Jensen and Viola Maxine Taniel Jensen, was born December 1, 1930 in Exira, Iowa and died September 30, 2009 at Regency Park and Rehab in Jefferson, Iowa where he had resided since December of 2008. Delbert received his education in a rural school near Exira. He enjoyed farm work very much and also had worked in factories. Delbert married Donna Marie Richardson in 1979. They made their home in Churdan. Delbert worked for several years for Carl Smith's Sanitation Company. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers and doing all types of handy man work. Delbert collected die cast cars and farm machinery, riding bikes, exercising and teasing his family members. His dog Nikica held a special place in his heart. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Bev and a brother Dallas. He was also preceded by his father-in-law Marvin Richardson, three brothers-in-law Jerry, Larry, and Doug. He is survived by his wife Donna of Churdan; mother-in-law Ruby Smith of Jefferson; sisters-in-law Dorothy Smith and husband Zene of Carroll, Barbara Richardson of Churdan; brother-in-law Marvin James "Jim" Richardson of Perry; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
