Delores’ earthly life ended peacefully on May 18, 2018 in Grimes, IA. Delores lived in Lincoln, NE most of her life before moving to Iowa in June 2015 to be near her daughter. Delores was the daughter of Henry and Alta Schultz. She worked in the banking and insurance industry. In her retirement years, she was a companion for the elderly. Delores thoroughly enjoyed all card games (especially bridge), gardening, baking (pie expert), crocheting, and volunteering at Sheridan Lutheran Church where she was a member for 60 years. Delores is survived by her children: Larry and Peg (Ross) Honeycutt of Lincoln, Lonnie and Kathy (Voigt) Honeycutt of Florence, AZ, Vonna Honeycutt Hall of Johnston, IA; grandchildren, Jennifer (Honeycutt) and Kyle Utemark of Lincoln, Jamie (Honeycutt) and Jeff Semrad of Lincoln, Dawn Honeycutt of Lincoln, Todd and Liz (Phillips) Kuenning of Gilbert, AZ, Kerry (Kuenning) and Nate Larsen of Fremont, NE, Brianne Hall of Altoona, IA and Jessica (Hall) and Tom Peckumn of Jefferson, IA. Delores’ great grandchildren always brought a smile to her face: Preston and Payton Utemark, Griffin and Blake Semrad, Makayla and Hayley Kuenning, Jackson and Emily Larsen, Brayden Hall and John Peckumn. Delores also leaves behind a niece, cousins, friends and a special cousin/friend, Joyce (Retherford) and Doug Ahlberg. Delores is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Jerry Albers and Harold Honeycutt; sister, Dorothy (Schultz) Holden and brother-in-law, Bud. A Celebration of Life service will be at Sheridan Lutheran Church (6955 Old Cheney Rd, Lincoln, NE) Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Sheridan Lutheran Church.
