Delores Shade

Delores Shade, 84, of Creston, died Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Creston Nursing and Rehab Center. Delores has been cremated and no services are planned at this time. Memorials may be directed to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1000 Cottonwood Road, Creston, Iowa 50801 and online condolences may be left for the family at ochiltree.com. Delores Marie Stoneburner was born December 9, 1930 in Boone County, Iowa, the daughter of Claude and Gladys (Callahan) Stoneburner. Her marriage to Murray Shade took place on November 23, 1949 in West Des Moines, Iowa. During her working years she was employed by the Creston Hospital and later was a self-employed caregiver who helped many older folks in the Creston Community. All this said she was a devoted wife and mother who loved her family and cherished the time spent with them. Delores is survived by her companion and loving husband of 65 years, Murray Shade; a daughter, Leona (Steve) Shephard all of Creston; five grandchildren; two sisters, Betty (Roger) Reynoldson of Pilot Mound and Loretta Wolf of Boone; extended family and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Michael (Brenda) Shade and two brothers, Harold and Russell Stoneburner.
