Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson is in charge of arrangements for Dennis "Denny" Smith, 66, of Grand Junction. Denny died Thursday at the VA Hospital in Des Moines. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson with burial in the Junction Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday after 1:00 p.m. with his family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. He is survived by sons Dennis Dean and Tony Allen both of Tucson, AZ and daughter Melissa Jafvert of Ft. Dodge, step daughters Brenda Becker of Tucson and Nicki Hall of Ankeny, 4 grandchildren, brother Lloyd Smith, sisters Colleen Anderson, and Gale Hicks all of Rippey, and Donna Scofield of Churdan.
