Dennis Gooch

Dennis M Gooch died September 23, 2015, in Des Moines, Iowa. Dennis was 75 years old. He requested that no service or visitation be held; instead a celebration of his life is to be held at a later date. He also requested that there be no flowers. In lieu of flowers or any other form of remembrance, memorial gifts may be made to the Iowa State Fair or Living History Farms. After retiring with 37 years of service at Employers Mutual Casualty Company, Dennis, as many friends and colleagues may know, could not just sit. He went to work on a part time basis at an Earl May Garden Center. He also volunteered at several locations including Living History Farms. As he always said, I want it done my way, Apples, Apples, Apples, Oranges, Oranges, Oranges. The body has been cremated. He was preceded in death by his father, Loyal; mother, Thelma; baby brother, Junior, and brother-in-law, Walter Schmidt. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marilyn; his son and wife, Scott and Michele Gooch; his son, Martin Gooch; two grandchildren, Quin and Nicole Gooch; one brother David and his wife Jody Gooch; sister, Patty Schmidt, and nieces and nephews.
